Lavanya Karinje

PhD Student

Lavanya holds a B.Tech. in Biotechnology from Manipal Institute of Technology, India, and previously worked as a Project Associate at the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine. Her current research focuses on improving RNA-addressable memory (RAM) technology and developing design rules for isolating and characterizing environmental plasmids to support microbiome engineering. Outside the lab, Lavanya is passionate about cooking and watching sports—from F1 to cricket—and has recently taken up running and biking around Houston.
