Dr. Lauren Stadler

​Lauren is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Engineering from Swarthmore College. Her work bridges environmental microbiology, microbial ecology, process engineering, and synthetic biology to advance wastewater treatment and environmental health. Known for her collaborative spirit, Lauren partners with researchers across disciplines and institutions, as well as public health authorities and utilities, to tackle complex environmental challenges. She is a mom to three amazing kids.
