Dr. Ge (Esther) Lou
Research Scientist
Esther is an environmental microbiologist with deep expertise in qPCR/ddPCR and next-generation sequencing technologies (Illumina/Nanopore). She earned my Ph.D. from the Stadler Lab at Rice University in 2022, where her research focused on wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance. Currently, she serves as a lead researcher at a global-leader company in the water industry, specializing in the microbiological characterization of industrial systems and developing targeted solutions to mitigate microbiologically influenced issues such as corrosion. While driving applied innovation in industry, she remains actively engaged in academic research through the Stadler Lab. Outside of work, she enjoys watching movies, traveling, spending time with friends, and cooking.
